Beach - Hawaii

Beaches loved by local people in Hawaii

First, we would like to share several beach photos loved by Hawaii locals. From the world-famous Waikiki Beach, Ala Moana Beach and Magic Island photographed from the sky, to Lanikai Beach, whose name means “heavenly sea” in Hawaiian, as well as the beaches near Diamond Head, Hanauma Bay, the Sandbar and the North Shore, each place represents the beautiful coastal scenery of Hawaii.

Flowers - Hawaii

Hawaiian flowers that color myths and legends

Located near the Tropic of Cancer, the Hawaiian Islands are blessed with a warm climate, fresh air and abundant rain. Flowers bloom throughout the year, and many native plants are deeply connected to Hawaiian myths and legends. When visiting Hawaii, enjoy the beauty of flowers such as red ginger, plumeria, the yellow hibiscus known as Maʻo hau hele, kokio, naupaka and kukui, as well as the colorful leis made from them.

Rainbow - Hawaii

The Rainbow State and its many beautiful rainbows

Hawaii is known as one of the rainiest states in the United States, and beautiful rainbows can be seen throughout the year. From the legendary night rainbow illuminated by moonlight to the double rainbows often seen across the islands, rainbows are part of everyday life in Hawaii and one of its most memorable natural wonders.

Heiau - Hawaii

Sacred sites where ancient Hawaiians offered prayers

Since ancient times, Hawaiians have believed that mana, or spiritual power, dwells in nature. This respect for nature still remains deeply rooted in Hawaiian culture today. Heiau are sacred temples and ceremonial sites where ancient Hawaiians offered prayers, and many of these special places still remain throughout the islands.

Street - Hawaii

Hawaiian streets filled with warmth and nostalgia

From Waikiki to Monsarrat Avenue, and to the historic town of Lahaina on Maui, Hawaiian streets are filled with a sense of ohana, warmth and familiarity. Many visitors feel a nostalgic connection even when walking through a town for the first time. Local food and familiar island scenery are also important parts of Hawaii’s lasting memories.

Museum - Hawaii

Hawaii’s unique royal history and culture

Hawaii is the only U.S. state with a royal history. After King Kamehameha unified the islands, Hawaii developed a rich kingdom culture. King Kalakaua, known as the Merrie Monarch, helped revive hula and chant as part of Hawaiian cultural restoration. Iolani Palace is the only royal palace in the United States, and Bishop Museum was founded in memory of Princess Pauahi. Today, it houses millions of cultural and historical items that share the story of Hawaii’s heritage.
